Behind Every Writings

Writing has been one of the important skills humans must have. From the moment we gain enough strength to hold, our parents taught us how to write. First, it was letters then our name. And little by little, they added words like cat or dog. And as we grow older, the words became sentences. And sentences became paragraphs. Some write for entertainment or just simply expressed their feelings and emotions; because for some people, writing is easy than talking. I am one of those people. Writing has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. Writing down something that capture my interest or stories in a piece of paper when inspiration strike. Inspired by other books and stories. Inspired by songs or it's lyrics. By words and phrases. By memories and experiences.

People tend to write in order to pour their feelings out when writing, to vent out the unwanted emotions. To put their minds at ease, and lift the heavy feeling in their chest. Some write to put their wild imagination into words; creating characters from a world different from ours. A world where people — readers can escape reality for a time being. Be someone who is heroic or cunning. Do something that they, themselves cannot do. And sometimes, their (writers) word seven stays with us; gave us strength to carry on. Words that gave us hope when things gone wrong. Made us feel love and brings comfort.

My writing process consist of writing down ideas on what to write. Something I find unique or interesting. Then I do some research. If is it appropriate to write. After the research, I wrote them down. Ideas after ideas. Even if it was just a draft. At least, I was able to take it off my mind. didn’t then, it will stay on my mind. Playing over and over again until I write it down.

After I wrote the draft of the idea, I’ll leave it be. I’ll read it in three days or in a week. Or I might forget about it and only remember If I came across it. And when I did, find it again, the idea of what would be the next part of it comes. Then I write it down in a not-so detailed draft. Then I’ll leave it again. And the process cycled. I write it down, leave it/forget about it, sees it, read it, write the next part. Add a part and add more details until the full draft of it is finished. Then for the last time, I’ll leave it be and read it sometime later. After that, I finalize it.

My key tip that I follow in writing is when you come up of an idea, write it down immediately. Make sure that you write a detailed draft in order for you to understand the flow or what you want to write about in the future. Another thing is when writing a story, do not put too much dialogue in it. Having too many dialogue made the story looks and sounds like a script. And when writing the inner thought of a character, be direct. Don’t put too many example to get what you want to say or to get the idea of what the character is feeling or thinking.

My key takeaways from Creative Writing is to not restrict yourself when it comes to writing. Express yourself as how you want to be express. And although the idea of what you are writing is important, it is also important t o check your grammar and spelling. People who will read what you wrote might lost interest if the grammar is wrong and the spelling is in correct.

And in the future, when you came across your work, you’ll find a piece of yourself in them. A slightly naive and innocent but youthful version of you. After all, I believe that if you made something with your heart, you leave a small piece of yourself in them.
